TCC’s Resource Base
All TCC sub-contractors and employees have achieved a reputation in the rail industry as high quality trainers and coaches. They are flexible, highly knowledgeable in rail operations and able to recognize and adapt when change is required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are characteristics of TCC’s people. Additionally, TCC’s people are accustomed to working various shifts at multiple locations and being on assignment two to three weeks in a row. They are familiar with current rules changes, as well as updated EEO policies. Many of TCC’s contracts have required people who have extensive operational and instructional experience with technical training, car movement, crew balancing, hours of duty regulations and other rules pertaining to FRA requirements.
Sub-Contractor & Employee Relations
As a railroad contractor, TCC understands the critical importance of establishing and maintaining positive professional relationships with its sub-contractors and employees. This is accomplished by coaching the skills and principles taught in many of its leadership and management courses as well as using the “Golden Rule” as a way to conduct its business. The fact that many of these people have worked 2, 3, 4 and even more projects with TCC is a good indicator of TCC’s commitment to strong relationships.
Expectations of Sub-Contractors
In the execution of their work responsibilities, TCC instructs, coaches and expects its people to:
- Consistently focus on the work.
- Operate within their defined roles and duties.
- Tell it like it is…communicate information in a timely, accurate and complete manner to the appropriate railroad representatives.
- Always remember that they are contractors, not company employees and thus should not get involved in problems or issues beyond the scope of their work.
